flash does not work as default on some cameras it as to be turned on manually.

the button people are talking about will have a symbol on it that looks like a lightening bolt find that and play around .. after all coz its digital there's no need to worry about wasting film
you need to press the thingy, unless its a fuji in which case turn the doofer
Have you read the manual? Perhaps you touched a botton that cancelled the function of the flash. Usually you are able to choose between different set ups for the flash. Be certain it is working
