Does anyone know a good site to download Linux onto a flash drive?

And after i do that, what do i do next in order to boot the flash drive? please provide step by step instructions, as i have never done this before. thank you.Does anyone know a good site to download Linux onto a flash drive?
I'm sure you don't just want ';Linux,'; you want a Linux distro. Most of those are free. Go find a distro and you can download it right off their website. Ubuntu and openSUSE are the most popular, based on distrowatch.com





As for the flash drive, there's no guarantee that you'll be able to boot off of it. In fact, it is pretty unlikely that it'll work. You need to check in your CMOS Setup to see if it's possible, under boot devices. Also, when you extract the distro into your flash drive, you'll need to have boot files extracted into the root directory of the flash drive. And of course, the flash drive must have a large enough capacity to store all the files.





So basically, don't try the flash drive.Does anyone know a good site to download Linux onto a flash drive?
