Can i use 3500 mesh granular form aluminum powder for flash powder?

I noticed i have an extra 1lb of 3500 mesh granular form aluminum powder (second most reactive, similiar to flake).

Would i be able to use this in chlorate/perchlorate flash compositions with an ok/decent delfageration? Can i use 3500 mesh granular form aluminum powder for flash powder?
Yes, 3500 mesh granular will yield spectacular results for flash powder, as long as the perchlorate/ chlorate

(don't use chlorate) is of similar particle size (say 1250 mesh ~10 micron) or smaller will do.

P.S. Flash powder is illegal IF stored in bulk quantities (over 50mg per container), if you choose to mix flash powder, be sure to set it off the same day you make it (or hide it well)

Good Luck,

3500 is extremly fine Al dust. it is a respiratory hazard so wear a mask when using it. as for pyrotechnic use, it should work as long as it isn't atomized. if it is, its pretty much useless. like the other guy said, stay away from chlorate mixes, and don't make more than a few grams at a time. flash powder has a ';critical mass '; and can explode for no reason.
